Wristbands will be available beginning at 10 am on Saturday, September 12th at the Friends "Welcome" booth, at the entrance to the Norman P. Murray Center. One per person, seating is limited to 500 for each session. Henry Winkler will be speaking 1 to 2 pm in the Sycamore Room
Henry Winkler is an American superstar actor, best-selling author, producer and director whose exciting career spans nearly three decades. Winkler, who was born in New York City, captured America’s heart as “The Fonz” on TV’s Happy Days during the 1970s and 80s and has been a fixture in American pop culture ever since.
Winkler portrayed "The Fonz" for 10 seasons (1974-1984) and won two consecutive Golden Globe Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy series in 1976 and 1977. He has also been nominated for numerous Emmy Awards, and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Winkler’s long acting and directing career also includes credits in a variety of TV shows and movies, including The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Rhoda, Heroes, Nightshift, A Smokey Mountain Christmas, Cop and a Half, Happy Days Reunion, Arrested Development, King of the Hill, Law and Order SVU, The Practice, Down to You, Holes, The Water Boy and Scream.
Winkler, along with partner Lin Oliver, has also published a series of best-selling children’s novels entitled Hank Zipzer: The World’s Most Amazing Under Achiever.
Winkler is currently providing the voice of teacher Willard Deutschebog in the new animated comedy show, Sit Down, Shut Up, which starts April 19, 2009 on the Fox Network.
