2009 Readers' FestivalSara Haze
Sara Haze started off the new year with performances at the 2009 NACA Convention, the largest college buyers market, in Nashville. She played at the 2009 Canadian Music Week (CMW) in Toronto before heading to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. Gene Simmons was also at CMW to promote Simmons Records/Universal Music Group Canada. He ran into Sara in the hotel lobby and asked her to sing for him, and she gave an impromptu performance, accompanied by Eric Fraley on guitar. A video of that meeting is on YouTube under: Gene Simmons Asks Sara if She'll Move to Canada (also noted in Simmons’ blog at SimmonsRecords.com under “March 18th – CMW News”). At the previous year's CMW, Grammy® Award winning producer/songwriter Glen Ballard and producer/songwriter Mark Hudson were so impressed with Sara that they joined her onstage. Sara’s song "Colored On Me," co-written with Ballard, was released exclusively on imeem.com (http://www.imeem.com/sarahaze) in March 2009. The song will be featured on her second CD, produced by guitarist/producer Eric Fraley. The CD will also include co-writes with James T.
