Fitness AssessmentsPersonal Trainer: Have you ever wondered what your fitness level is and how you compare with others in your age group? Find our by taking a simple fitness test at the Montanoso Recreation and Fitness Center. Participants will receive a personalized results sheet with recommendations to start and maintain a personal fitness program. For more information, please see our Fitness Assessment Flyer. To arrange an appointment, contact Mark Thorndyke at 949-859-4348 ext 5725. The assessment costs $20 and usually takes a half hour to complete.

Test includes:  

  • Resting Blood Pressure
  • Percentage Body Fat
  • Cardiac Risk Appraisal
  • Upper Body Strength
  • Lower Body Strength
  • Abdominal Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Body Mass Index

R.I.P.P.E.D: We've taken the best elements of fitness and rolled them into one 55 minute class that combines strength, cardio, core and drills to get you fit and lean. Our acronym stands for Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance and Diet and Nutrition. We pack all of that into one class that's musically driven and is truly for every-BODY. Body Sculpt: A conditioning class utilizing muscle groups of both the upper and lower body, using weights, resistance bands and tubing. Floor work and stretching complete the class.

Jazzercise: Aerobic conditioning using fun dance routines and floor work that incorporates optional use of hand and leg weights for toning hips, thighs, abs, and upper arms.

Jazzercise Circuit: A combination of aerobic exercises and strength training with weights, resistance tubes, and stability balls, this jazzercise workout covers all the fitness bases.

Zumba: Looking for a great workout that’s healthy, beneficial, and FUN? Then it’s time to ZUMBA! An infusion of hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves, ZUMBA creates an interval training session of fast and slow movements with resistance training to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Intermediate (Hatha) Yoga: This moderately paced class teaches classic yoga postures through breath and deepened awareness. Trains the mind to remain alert, focused and composed. Improves muscle tone, strength and balance and can strengthen the spine. For more information, please see our Yoga Flyer.

Pilates: Take part in an exercise regimen that uses special stretches to improve core strength, flexibility, agility and range of motion. For more information, please see our Pilates Flyer.

Basic Yoga: Define and improve range of motion; enhance balance; strengthen muscles and bones; soothe ligaments, tendons and joints; and develop body/mind connection of how you sit, stand and move about your day. All abilities are welcome in this non-competitive class that let's you progress at your own place. For more information, please see our Yoga Flyer.

Total Body Blast: A dynamic full-body workout combining elements of cardio, bodyweight exercises and weight training using dumbbells. Floor work and stretching round out the class for a complete workout. For more information, please see our Total Body Blast Flyer.

Tabata: Tabata is a High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T) workout that focuses on 4-minute intervals consisting of 20 seconds of high-intensity or anaerobic training followed by 10 seconds of resting that lasts for eight rounds before switching movements. Boot Camp: Cardio, agility and strength training with weights, kettlebells, drills, obstacle courses and more! Twelve classes offered each week – with no maximums. Classes are primarily outdoors at Sierra and indoors at Montanoso. All equipment is provided. Develop a lean, toned and strong body and get results now!
