Community Development

The Community Development Department administers the City's land use policies, including zoning, building, subdivision, and environmental regulations, to ensure the orderly physical growth of the community.  Program activities range from advance and current planning to permit inspection, code enforcement, and economic development.  The Department also oversees the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and the Housing Rehabilitation program.

Development Code

Title 9 of the Mission Viejo Municipal Code, also known as the "Development Code," contains various regulations governing land use in the City.  You can view the Mission Viejo Municipal Code, including Title 9, on the Municipal Code website.

 

Planning Permits

A Planning Application and Initial Study Questionnaire are required for certain development projects in the City of Mission Viejo
