Mission Viejo Photo Scanning Day

Saturday, April 15, 2017 -
10:00am to 5:00pm

Mission Viejo is barely 50 years old, but hundreds of thousands of people have lived, raised families and grown up in our community. Along the way, residents have snapped millions of photos of events - capturing the essence of this great city.  As such, we are seeking photos displaying family life in Mission Viejo.

With our local history digital collection, we have scanned and made available online more than 400 images highlighting our community's past and want to expand and grow our collection by inviting you to share your pictures. We will host scanning days and you can bring up to 20 photographs, which we'll scan and possibly add to our online archive. Once scanned, each original photo will be placed in an archival safe protector and returned to you along with a digital copy of each image on a USB drive.

We are hosting three scanning days offering appointments for 20-minute time slots between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The January 21 Scanning Day takes place at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. Stay tuned for more information about the March 4 and April 15 Scanning Days. Schedule your time slot by contacting 949-830-7100 ext. 5105 or

These programs and materials are possible thanks to funding from a Library Service and Technology Act grant administered through the California State Library.
