Help support Mission Viejo resident, hospital worker shot during Las Vegas massacre

Matt Cox and Natalie Grumet

This tight-knit community is rallying behind the son of longtime Mission Viejo residents as well as a beloved Mission Hospital employee who were both shot and injured during the Las Vegas massacre, the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history.

Matt Cox, the son of Greg and Linda Cox was shot in the chest and underwent surgery to remove part of his lung. He is recovering in ICU where he will be monitored over the next few days. A GoFundMe page – with a sweet photo of Matt and his girlfriend Lauren taken just hours before the shooting – was set up by a friend to help the Cox family with mounting medical bills while Matt recovers from this senseless act of violence. You can help this Mission Viejo family by visiting this page.

Natalie Grumet, 37, an ultrasound technician at Mission Hospital, had reconstructive surgery Tuesday to repair her shattered jawbone, after she was shot in the face during the Route 91 Harvest Festival.  Natalie, who is also a breast cancer survivor, will require multiple plastic surgeries.  Her family is hoping she can be transported Friday to Mission Hospital, where a team of her colleagues are waiting to provide her medical treatment. You can support Natalie by visiting this page.

A general GoFundMe campaign was also set up by Clark County Commission Chair Steve Sisolak to fundraise for victims of the shooting. The funds raised will provide relief and monetary support to victims and their families.
