Support Mission Viejo's adopted troops in Tee It Up Fore Marines

Registration and sponsorship opportunities are now available for the 7th annual Marine golf tournament – “Tee It Up Fore Marines” – on Friday, October 13.

Hosted by the Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee and Mission Viejo Community Foundation, the event benefits members of the City’s adopted Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division.

The tournament includes 18 rounds of golf with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. at the pristine Marine Memorial Golf Course in Camp Pendleton.

Residents, businesses and organizations can support our adopted troops by participating in or sponsoring the event. Sponsorships range from $200 to $5,000, but donations in any amount are appreciated. The fee for an individual golfer is $200. A foursome, which includes a Marine, is $800.

Along with the honor of golfing with Mission Viejo’s Marines, this great event includes lunch, dinner and an awards ceremony. This year’s event will feature a Marine assault vehicle golf ball drop fundraiser, with the winner taking home $1,000. The top three tournament teams will also qualify to play in the Randy Jones Invitational in January 2018.

Tournament proceeds support the programs the Mission Viejo Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee offers military personnel and their families. The committee sends weekly care packages to deployed troops; hosts an annual “Day at Lake Mission Viejo”; offsets the cost for entry-level Marines to attend the annual Marine Corps Ball; distributes toys to Marine children during the holidays; and provides baby baskets for newborns and expectant Marine wives.

To support the event, register online at or make checks payable to the Mission Viejo Community Foundation and mail to the Marine Golf Tournament c/o Mission Viejo Community Foundation, 200 Civic Center, Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
