50th Anniversary Apollo 11 Moon Landing Presentation

Apollo 11 moon landing presentation

Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Richard Stember in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. This is a fun family event for all ages.

Exactly fifty years ago Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin took their first steps onto the surface of the moon. Now NASA is preparing to send astronauts back by the year 2024. What was achieved during the Apollo program? What is NASA planning now? How will it be accomplished? And where do we go from there?

Richard Stember is a volunteer in the JPL/NASA Solar System Ambassador program which is designed to provide accurate and current information to the public. As an ambassador he receives official briefings on NASA missions and discoveries from NASA's own scientists, program managers and engineers. He is also the founder and Executive Director of Science Heads, a non-profit that supports STEM education in local schools. Richard has a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the State University College of New York, Oneonta.
