National Prescription Medication Take Back Day 2018-4-28

As part of an ongoing effort to prevent drug abuse and theft, the City and Orange County Sheriff's Department will take part in National Take Back Day. The Sheriff's Department is working on the collection with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Bring unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications (NO SHARPS), which can be in original packaging, bottles or in a zip-lock bag. Since the packaging is incinerated along with the medication, there’s no need to remove labels. Folks can remain anonymous, and there is no cost to drop off prescription medications.

Removing unused or expired prescription medications from the medicine cabinet and storing needed prescription medications in a secured cabinet are simple steps that can save lives.

For more information, call 714-647-4133. The event will be held rain or shine.
