National Night Out celebration Aug. 6
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 6 from 5-8 pm when Mission Viejo joins thousands of communities nationwide for the annual National Night Out community safety event at Melinda Park.
In celebration of our safe City, Mission Viejo Police Services is hosting a fun family-friendly event that fosters positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.
Folks will enjoy Orange County Sheriff’s Department displays, interactive booths, a bounce house, and much more. The event will also feature a display of cameras that aid in identifying suspects and creating detailed timelines of events, which significantly contributes to crime-solving efforts. In addition, families will enjoy two K9 demonstrations at 6 and 7 pm; and several displays including the Sheriff’s helicopter (Duke); mounted unit; SWAT; crime lab; crime prevention; and others.
An essential part of this year’s event is the opportunity to help less fortunate kids and families by donating school supplies to Tools for Schools at Melinda Park. Tools for Schools is sponsored by the Mission Viejo Police Foundation with collection assistance from Mission Viejo Police Services.
Melinda Park is located at 28951 Melinda Road. For more information, contact 949-470-8344 or crimeprevention@cityofmissionviejo.org.
