OCTA seeking public feedback about proposed elimination of two major bus routes within City limits

octa

As part of the Orange County Transportation Authority’s (OCTA) efforts to operate a more efficient transit system, a proposed service plan for bus routes is under consideration, impacting  two major routes – 86 and 87 – within the City of Mission Viejo limits.

The two routes primarily service Jeronimo Road and Alicia Parkway and would be eliminated with certain portions of the routes preserved and rerouted along Route 177, according to OCTA.  Route 86’s most utilized stop, the Norman P. Murray and Community Center, would be completely eliminated as part of this plan.

Before finalizing any changes to the routes, OCTA is seeking feedback from the public.

You can weigh in by filling out this survey or calling 714-636-RIDE through July 25 or by taking part in a public hearing at 9 am on July 25 at OCTA’s Headquarters, 550 South Main Street in Orange.
