Pumptrack amenity installed on Oso Creek Trail for Bike Safety Month
In honor of Bike Safety Month, the City of Mission Viejo is excited to announce the installation of a temporary pumptrack. The track is located along the Oso Creek Trail just below the Norman P. Murray Community Center's playground in the Celebration Garden next to the bridge.
The track is available free to the public through May 19 from 7 am to dusk.
A pumptrack is a closed circuit track consisting of rollers, banked turns, and other features that allow riders to use their momentum to propel themselves forward. It's a fun and challenging way to practice bike skills and improve fitness.
We encourage the community to enjoy our trail system and we hope this temporary amenity encourages more people to explore the Oso Creek Trail. The track is for non-motorized bicycles and scooters, so please wear a properly fitted helmet and follow the posted rules.
For more information, contact 949-470-3061. To view more Bike Safety Month events, visit the City website.

This is Incredible! My kiddos have used it the last two days and have had So Much Fun on it, along with all the other kiddos who used it!! We were here for around two hours each day the the kids couldn't get enough of it.
Thank you for providing such an exciting and fun opportunity for children of all ages to get out on their bikes and ride! Please consider turning this into a permanent fixture for the community!
Why is it temporary? There…
Why is it temporary? There is nothing free for kids to do in this boring city, keep this installed! Hire some teenager to keep watch of it part - time and you have yourself a nice place where kids can safely hang out on their bikes, instead of doing dangerous things in the street. Why waste the money to install this for literally three weeks, and then take it apart? Just keep it up, since the city is the only one allowed to put up ramps/tracks. Any time citizens try to do it they tell us to remove them or its private property. Time for our tax money to go towards our future, our kids. What is our taxes even being spent on? Keep the pump track. Just please don't make people pay money to use it, this city already gets enough from taxes
