The Mission Viejo Library and the Southern California Writers Association (SCWA) will host New York Times #1 international bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz on Saturday, May 20.

The event begins at 10 am in the City Hall Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center.

Hurwitz has written 24 thrillers including the popular "Orphan X" series. His novels have won numerous literary awards and have been published in 33 languages. Additionally, he's written screenplays and television scripts for many of the major studios and television networks.

Mission Viejo Library will commemorate Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, with Randi Biederman, co-author of the critically acclaimed book “Schindler’s Listed: The Search for My Father’s Lost Gold” on Monday, April 17 at 6 pm in the City Hall Council Chamber.

Randi will discuss the book - which is part treasure hunt and Holocaust history - and the 20 years of research that led her and her late husband Mark to write their family’s story.

Books will be available for purchase with cash only for $20. An autograph signing will follow the presentation.

Coffee lovers are invited to a special presentation by Kristin Yellin from Mission Viejo-based High Ground Coffee on Saturday, April 15.

The fun takes place in the City Hall Council Chamber beginning at 11 am.

Kristin will talk about the history of coffee and how it fosters a sense of community. A reception with free coffee will follow the presentation.
