In an effort to educate the community about the importance of recycling and to encourage residents to recycle, the City’s waste hauler, Waste Management of Orange County, provides free tours at its transfer station in Irvine.  The transfer station in Irvine is where all recyclables collected in Mission Viejo are sorted.  The tour starts with a brief presentation, which is followed by a walking tour through the transfer station line.  This tour is a great opportunity for students and residents of all ages to better understand what happens with their waste after it is pl
