Get ready to enjoy relaxing and fun Tuesdays on the Terrace as part of a free concert series kicking off September 5 at the Norman P. Murray Center. 

Taking place from 4:30-6:30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month, the concerts will feature local talent and beer and wine for purchase from the Mission Viejo Rotary Club as well as snacks from the Senior Leadership Committee.

Stay healthy this fall through two free Senior and Community Flu Shot Clinics in September.   

Both standard flu shots and the “senior-dose” will be available from Genoa Healthcare on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 am to 3 pm on September 18 and 25 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.   

Genoa Healthcare will provide free Senior and Community Flu Shot Clinics in September. Both standard flu shots and the "senior-dose" will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The senior dose is recommended for folks 65+. Standard flu shots are for children 3 and older with parental consent or 15 and older without consent as long as individuals provide proof of identification with name and date of birth. Participants are encouraged to bring their health insurance card. Clinics will be held on Monday September 18th & 25th from  11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

The City of Mission Viejo will host a Patriot Day remembrance ceremony to honor the men, women and children who lost their lives and the heroes who responded to the catastrophic events of 9/11.

The gathering is from 6-7 pm on Monday, September 11 at the Oso Creek Trailhead Memorial flagpole (next to the Potocki Center of the Arts lower parking lot) at 27301 La Paz Road.

The Mission Viejo Diversity + Inclusion Task Force is partnering with Baly Ha Na to offer a unique music program this fall that supports middle and high school students dubbed Power of Music.    

The Power of Music program was developed in response to the Columbine High School shooting and includes many lifetime skills necessary to manage difficult emotions in a healthy, collaborative way.   

Enjoy live entertainment, games, food vendors, photo opportunities and more during the Night Market.

Upcoming events include:

Get ready to make a splash and compete for ultimate bragging rights at this year’s Cardboard Boat Derby event on Saturday, August 26 at the Marguerite Aquatics Complex.

The fun takes place from 2-6 pm and includes an exciting derby race where teams will build a boat out of cardboard and duct tape and attempt to race to the other side of the pool without sinking. Before the competition heats up, guests will enjoy recreational swimming, games and music.

The Mission Viejo Senior Leadership Committee is hosting its first annual Second Time Around Jewelry and Accessories sale August 18-19 at the Norman P. Murray Center.

The sale takes place on Friday, August 18 from 1 to 5 pm and Saturday, August 19 from 9 am to 2 pm. New items will be added on the second day. All proceeds benefit senior services in Mission Viejo.
