Mission Viejo Library Comic-Con®
Come join us for our second Mission Viejo Library Comic-Con on Saturday, March 23! This event is absolutely free and runs from 10 am to 5 pm. There will be guests, vendors, games, costumes, crafts, food and fun for people of all ages. Last year's event was a smash hit and this year's is shaping up to be even better.
Carlos Nieto III is of Colombian roots born and raised in Los Angeles. His artistic talent led him to a job on the Emmy-winning show “The Simpsons” and “King of the Hill” as a Layout Artist. Carlos also worked as a Visual Consultant for Disney and Universal, creating sketches and final art for set designs as well as conducting Comic Book making, Anime and Animation drawing workshops at libraries across the country. Carlos currently works with Children and families at Children’s hospital Los Angeles as an Artist in Residence, providing them with an artistic escape from the anxiety and stress of being in a hospital.
Eamon Sheehy is a SoCal native, born and raised in Irvine and now lives in Mission Viejo with his wife. When not working at his IT job, Eamon enjoys playing table-top roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons, reading, and video games. The foundation of wanting to play D&D came from one of his first jobs as an instructor at a summer camp. There he would work with children and teach them engineering concepts with LEGO® pieces. However, most of his gaming and fun pastimes would be put on hold for a few years until he finished his degree from UC Irvine. Now a graduate, he looks for new creative outlets with Dungeons & Dragons and teaches others how to become Game Masters so they can lead their own groups into awesome adventures.
Anastasia Hunter - after accidentally winning 1st place in the Master Costumer Category at the North American Science Fiction Convention in 1999 (with a brilliant Celtic group presentation), Anastasia enjoys enthusiastically dressing up at fan events all over the United States. Although she has a strong preference for original designs and hall costumes/cosplay, Anastasia has been known to occasionally moonlight as a male Tusken Raider with the 501st/Rebel Legion at local libraries and charity events. When Anastasia is not costuming, she enjoys taking photographs of fellow cosplayers and helps organize a variety of anime, pop culture, and steampunk conventions for fellow fans in the Southwest.
What is Geek Elite Media? The Geek Elite Media Network features podcasts and articles about everything we are all geeking out about. We are a group of geeks that are passionate about topics that run the pop culture gamut, from Anime to sports and then to food. So keep an eye out and if you don’t come across something you are interested in, contact us and maybe you can be a contributing geek as well. We want to create a community where everyone is included and informed, because being informed is the most effective way to be included in a community.
Hugo Miranda was born and raised in Costa Rica. At an early age, he discovered an unusual delight in repeating foreign words and accents from TV. Speaking another language seemed like a super power. He wanted to be like Indiana Jones: go to a strange land and speak a strange dialect. When awarded a full scholarship to Taiwan, he left everything behind to learn Mandarin Chinese, which he proudly uses every day. Currently, he is responsible for the quality of Blizzard Entertainment games in Latin American Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys spreading bilingualism and raising bilingual kids.
