When browsing the bevy of books at the Mission Viejo Library, be sure to check out the exquisite “Reflections in Watercolor” exhibit on display.

Hosted by the Saddleback Valley Unified School District Community Services Department, the multilevel painting classes include extremely talented artists who range from beginning to advanced levels.

Under the direction of Antoinette Fierro, the artists learned many facets of watercolor painting. Techniques from washes to textural effects are incorporated while stressing the use of color to bring out the light and vibrancy of this medium.  Color and value contrast provide the portal to illuminate moments the artists captured.  You can see reflections of cherished memories, visions of serene moments and glimpses of aspiring dreams, defining each artist’s journey through life.

The exhibit is on display at 100 Civic Center through September 13.
