2017 OCFA Employee of the Year is Chris Linton

Chris Linton has been named the Orange County Fire Authority’s 2017 Mission Viejo Employee of the Year.

His strong work ethic and commitment to the City of Mission Viejo has earned him the respect of peers, supervisors and community members alike.

Chris is a hardworking and dedicated firefighter at Station 9 near The Shops at Mission Viejo. Along with being an outstanding firefighter, full-time member of the Technical Rescue Truck program, Chris is a contributing member of the California Task Force 5.

If that weren’t enough, Chris has also been heavily involved with the OCFA Fire Explorer Program.  The program offers young adults real-life experience, training and exposure to the career opportunities available in fire service. A great mentor and leader, Chris has served as an instructor for the last six Fire Explorer academies.  Thanks to his excellent training skills, he was also handpicked to be a rope-rescue instructor in three OCFA recruit academies.

“His quiet, humble style of instruction, combined with a firm grasp of the complexities of the various rescue systems and techniques, is both refreshing and effective,” said Chris’ supervisor when nominating him for the honor.  “I am certain that he will be invited back for the next academy …”

The City of Mission Viejo appreciates Chris’ exceptional efforts and commitment to his field.  He will be honored by the City Council in January.
