2nd Youth Resilience Workshop set for Sept. 26
Parents and teachers are invited to a workshop designed to increase awareness of a public health crisis facing our country.
The "Youth Resilience Workshop" is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
Western Youth Services (WYS) is teaming up with our City to teach parents, teachers and others about the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study that is changing the way childhood stress and trauma is addressed.
By participating in the workshop, you will take the ACEs survey and gain a closer understanding of its impact; collaborate with community members to help our children heal from the predictable impact of ACEs; and walk away with an understanding of how to better care for our youth. The workshop will also feature the acclaimed documentary "Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope."
