The public is invited to a free screening of the 2016 highly acclaimed feature film “Sully” on Sunday, September 10 at Mission Viejo City Hall.

Directed by Clint Eastwood with Tom Hanks in the lead role, the film relates the true story of pilot Chesley Sullenberger who glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard.

The post-film discussion will include retired airline Captain Doug Orme who will share his perspective about the controversial decisions made by Captain Sullenberger.

The event, which begins at 2 p.m., is sponsored by the City’s Community of Character Committee and coincides with September’s character trait of “responsibility.”

The film is rated PG-13 and will be shown on a theater-size screen with theater-style seating and surround-sound at 200 Civic Center, just across from the Mission Viejo Library.
