Amazing works of art on display along Crown Valley Parkway
Next time you’re on Crown Valley Parkway check out the amazing artwork in the pillars along the street by artist Fernando Del Rosario and the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity.
Fernando Del Rosario’s vivid collection of original composed art is based on superheroes and inspirational quotes by extraordinary people.
“As an awkward boy trying to find his place in a new country, I found solace and inspiration in the stories and characters of the superheroes I would see on television or read about in the pages of a comic book,” he said. “As I developed my own identity and confidence, my interest expanded to poetry, philosophies and quotations by extraordinary people. I was drawn to movies and documentaries of struggle, adversity and accomplishment. At that point, I realized that superheroes do exist in the real world. This original art collection is in honor of what has inspired me throughout the years and is an expression of my creative perspective.”
Chuck Jones was the most celebrated director in the history of animation. During the Golden Age of animation, he helped bring to life many of Warner Bros. most famous characters—Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd and Porky Pig. He left a legacy with the characters he created like Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian, Pepe le Pew and many others. He founded the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity in 2000 before his death to provide children of all ages with “a gymnasium for the creative brain.”
Today, the center guides students of all ages through experiences that nurture the creative genius that exists in us all.
The works of art along the Crown Valley Gallery will be up through next summer.
