Mosey on over to Boots, Beer and BBQ Bash July 22
Sport your favorite western wear and kick up your heels for a good cause at this year’s “Boots, Beer and Barbecue†bash Sunday, July 22.
Benefitting the City’s adopted Headquarters Battalion of the First Marine Division, this fun and casual event is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
Guests will savor a barbecue buffet by Outback Steakhouse, line dance lessons with the talented Doug Houston and tons of camaraderie. Folks will have the chance to buy a “Mystery Box†for $20. (Contents of each box will be worth at least $20 but could be much more!)
Proceeds will benefit the Marines and Sailors Adoption Committee, which provides year-round support to our adopted Marines and Sailors and their families. This volunteer committee sends weekly care packages to deployed troops, offsets the cost for entry-level Marines to attend the annual Marine Corps Ball, coordinates an annual “Day at Lake Mission Viejo†event, provides emergency monetary assistance to Marines and their families, hosts baby showers and gives gift baskets to expecting mothers and more.
The $25 fee includes the delectable dinner. Beer, wine and soda will be available for purchase. Tickets are available at the community center or by contacting Elaine Baker at 949-770-9758, elaineb4@cox.net or Barbara Liddy at 949-586-7746, beliddy@sbcglobal.net.
