City and local organizations provide services for those in need

park-it-market

Do you know someone in need of food or social services? The City is reminding residents there are local organizations that provide these services for families in need.

In Mission Viejo, free groceries are available for seniors through the City's Park-It Market Food Pantry at the Norman P. Murray Community Center on Fridays from 8-9 am. Seniors can bring two reusable grocery bags to fill with perishable and nonperishable items such as meat, dairy, fresh produce and canned goods. For more information, visit the Senior Programs and Services webpage.

There are numerous food pantries surrounding Mission Viejo including Mercy Warehouse in Laguna Niguel, South Orange County Family Resource Center in Lake Forest, Family Assistance Ministries in San Clemente, RSM Cares Food Pantry in Rancho Santa Margarita and more. The City has compiled a full list of local food pantries individuals can use.

For folks who need housing, two local organizations in Irvine can provide assistance - Families Forward and South County Outreach.

For more information, download the Community Resources and Hotlines Guide or call 949-470-8412.
