City of Mission Viejo will pay homage to veterans on November 11
The ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. in the Sycamore Room of the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way.
The annual ceremony will honor and remember the men and women of the Armed Forces who bravely served our country. It will also include recognition of this year’s Mission Viejo Veteran of the Year John “Bogie†Boegeman.
The public ceremony will include a color guard, rifle salute, taps along with Colonel Carlos Urbina from the U.S. Marine Corps Headquarters Battalion First Marine Division and Antoinette Balta of the Veterans Legal Institute addressing the crowd.
The talented Philip Bardowell, who has performed with The Beach Boys, will entertain guests. Refreshments, a Veterans Resource Fair and children’s activity booth follow the ceremony. The City of Mission Viejo encourages families and local youth to join us at the ceremony to embrace the importance of recognizing veterans on this day – and every day.
