Council meeting included presentations about election maps, school campuses and ambulance service response times

council meeting update

The City Council on Tuesday hosted another public hearing regarding district-based election maps that featured a detailed report by the Center for Demographic Research. Most of the discussion centered on Map A and the newly-revised Map E-1. The next public hearing will take place during the Council’s February 22 meeting.

During Tuesday’s meeting, the Council also received an important presentation from a Sheriff’s Department school resource officer (SRO) about what the City’s six SROs are seeing on Mission Viejo campuses. The meeting also included an update by Orange County Fire Authority Division 3 Chief Rob Capobianco about concerns with ambulance service response times and ongoing discussions with the County of Orange.

The City Council normally meets at 6 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the Council Chamber at 200 Civic Center. Meetings are streamed live on the City’s website and also air on Cox Channel 30 and AT&T U-Verse Channel 99. Residents are encouraged to sign up for the City’s eNewsletter and follow the City’s official social media sites for the most accurate, up-to-date information.
