County seeking volunteers for 2022 Point In Time homeless count

everyone counts

The County of Orange is seeking residents to volunteer for its 2022 Point In Time homeless count in South County on February 24.

The biennial Point In Time homeless count will provide the County with updated numbers and demographics on the homeless population to help guide its response to the growing issue.

The public can volunteer to work as team captains, field surveyors and deployment center support. People can also donate personal protective equipment (PPE) (surgical masks, latex-free disposable gloves, hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes) as well as snack kits, bottled water and gift cards to grocery stores and restaurants that will be distributed during the census.

Volunteers are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR test within 48 hours of the scheduled volunteer shift.
