Do you have the Fastest Kid in Town?
Is your child the fastest kid in town? On Saturday, June 9, he or she will have a chance to earn forever bragging rights in a new community event designed to encourage kids to embrace a healthy lifestyle.
The City, Mission Viejo Rotary Club and Mission Viejo Reporter are teaming up to host the free "Fastest Kid in Town Race" at noon during the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life at Oso Viejo Community Park.
Racers will compete by age and gender in a 50-yard dash that ends with a sprint to crown the overall "Fastest Kid in Town." Participants will compete in four age categories: 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; and 11-12 years. The goal of this new event is to raise awareness of the importance of fitness and activity for young children.
