Donate new school supplies for kids in need
With a new school year just around the corner, the City of Mission Viejo is collecting school supplies for children in need.
Through August 7, you can drop off new backpacks, lunchboxes, pencils & pens, calculators, paper, binders, notebooks & dividers, glue sticks, erasers and crayons and markers to the Norman P. Murray Center at 24932 Veterans Way.
The supplies will go to Family Assistance Ministries, which works to prevent hunger and homelessness in Orange County. The need for school supplies for kids in our area is certainly there. One in five children in Orange County lives in poverty and more than 46 percent of them are under 18.
You can make a difference for a family in need.
