Don't miss Mission Viejo Library's spectacular 20th anniversary celebration this Saturday
The Mission Viejo Library is gearing up for its spectacular 20th anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 14.
This community celebration is from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will feature a host of free programs for kids and adults along with giveaways. Famed "Fancy Nancy" children's book illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser will be on hand for the fun as well as "Drabble" comic strip creator Kevin Fagan. Kids can explore a Harry Potter-themed plant maze in honor of the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter books. Food trucks will sell tasty fare throughout the day, and a live outdoor performance by 80z All-Stars will culminate the festivities. Beer and wine will be available during the concert. Bring low-back chairs or blankets for concert seating.

10 a.m. - Welcome ceremony
11 a.m. - Library history and architecture tour
11 a.m. - Native American Storytime with Jacque Nuñez
11:30 a.m. - Meet Roxy (PAW Readathon Therapy Dog)
12-3 p.m. Train rides for kids
12 p.m. - Bones of Contention trombone quartet
1 p.m. - Fancy Nancy with Robin Preiss Glasser
2:30 p.m. - Library history and architecture tour
3 p.m. - Kevin Fagan
3 p.m. - Family Storytime
4 p.m. - Family Storytime
5-6:30 p.m. - 80z All-Stars concert and beer & wine garden
Free shuttle service will be available 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way to the Mission Viejo Library, 100 Civic Center.
