Don't miss virtual program with bestselling author Maggie Shipstead on June 23
Bestselling author Maggie Shipstead will chat with author Chloe Benjamin about her latest acclaimed novel "Great Circle" at 6 pm on June 23 via Zoom.
Shipstead is the New York Times bestselling author of "Astonish Me" and "Seating Arrangements," which won the Dylan Thomas Prize and Los Angeles Times Book Prize for First Fiction.
Her latest novel centers on Marian Graves, a daredevil aviator determined to chart her course in life - at any cost - to be the first to fly around the world north-south over the poles. In 1950, near the end of her historic attempt, she vanished in Antarctica. Hadley Baxter is a scandal-plagued movie star who sees her career lifeline in a new role: the lost pilot Marian Graves.
"Great Circle" spans prohibition-era Montana, the Pacific Northwest, New Zealand, wartime London and modern-day Los Angeles as the fates of two women collide over geographies and centuries.
Shipstead will discuss the story with New York Times bestseller Chloe Benjamin, author of "The Immortalists," which was named a best book of 2018 by NPR, The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly and others.
