DUI enforcement operations in Mission Viejo this weekend

The Sheriff's Department's DUI Enforcement Team will deploy this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers.

DUI saturation patrols will be out in force from 7 p.m. Friday, March 10 through 3 a.m. Saturday, March 11 in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and arrests in Mission Viejo and Lake Forest.

DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols help lower the number of people killed and injured in alcohol- or drug-impaired crashes. 

Drivers are encouraged to download the Designated Driver VIP, or "DDVIP," free mobile app for Android or iPhone.  The DDVIP app helps find nearby bars and restaurants that feature free incentives for the designated sober driver, from free non-alcoholic drinks to free appetizers and more.

Report drunk drivers by calling 911.
