The next time you drop by the Norman P. Murray Community Center, check out the amazing work by photographer Kurt Weston.

A resident of Mission Viejo, Kurt is a world-class glamour photographer turned blind visionary whose exhibit captures color-saturated, luminous images of garden flowers as well as hillsides and parks.

Kurt, 60, was once part of what he dubs "the illusion machine." As a glamour photographer, he spent years jetting to Europe with top makeup artists and hair stylists, transforming models to create the appearance of beauty.  However, his life and work all changed in 1996 when he became legally blind.

Today, Kurt continues his new vision of beauty, interpreting the world as he now sees it. His radiant color photographs created after losing his sight are breakthrough images, and he was recognized by Arts Orange County with the Outstanding Artist Achievement Award and appeared on CNN.

Kurt's "Seasons in a Prayer Garden" exhibit is on display in the Sycamore Gallery through the first week of May. The Norman P. Murray Community Center is located at 24932 Veterans Way.
