Fascinating interview with Holocaust survivor April 21 at Norman P. Murray Center

sam s

The City, Mission Viejo Activities Committee and Jewish Federation of Orange County invite the community to a special educational evening with Auschwitz survivor Sam Silberberg on Thursday, April 21. The interview begins at 6 pm in the Sycamore Room at the Norman P. Murray Center.

Sam was 10 years old in 1939 when the Germans invaded Poland and occupied his hometown of Jaworzno. Sam will share compelling first-person testimony of his survival of two concentration camps and daring escape from the death march. Sam has a riveting account of a child’s daredevil bravery, his pain and suffering and remarkable ingenuity in eluding the Nazis. Imprisoned together, Sam and his father had deeply opposing beliefs about whether the Jews should risk certain death to escape or practice their spiritual beliefs and trust divine protection.

The interview will be recorded and posted on the City’s YouTube channel after the event. See Sam’s fascinating interview from 2020.

Doors open at 5:30 pm and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees can submit questions prior to seating.

The Norman P. Murray Center is located at 24932 Veterans Way.
