To help keep residents healthy, the City of Mission Viejo is partnering with Genoa Healthcare to provide free Senior and Community Flu Shot Clinics in October and November.

The Senior Flu Shot Clinic takes place from 11 am to 3 pm on Tuesday, October 25 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. Shots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with most shots available in the "senior-dose." The flu shot is recommended for folks 65 and older. Some non-senior dose shots will be available. Participants can enjoy a barbecue sandwich lunch before or after their shot from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Lunch reservations should be made by October 20 by calling 949-470-3063.

Then on Wednesday, November 9, the Community Flu Shot Clinic will take place from noon to 4 pm at the outdoor North Paseo located at 25282 Marguerite Parkway. Shots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis with most standard flu shots available and some senior doses for folks 65 and older. Standard flu shots are for children 3 and older with parent consent or 15 and older without consent as long as they provide proof of identification with name and date of birth.

Participants are encouraged to bring their health insurance card; however, all shots will be provided for free, and no reservations are needed to obtain a flu shot.

For more information, call 949-470-3062.
