Golden Spoon Café
The newly renovated and reinvented Golden Spoon Café received a Certificate of Occupancy from the City this week and is expected to open within the coming weeks. Nestled at 26012 Marguerite Parkway, this new café concept specializes in scooping up cultured gelato in many flavors like cookie butter, Rice Krispy, tiramisu and lemon sorbet. The cafe will also offer premium coffees, teas, acai bowls, smoothies, cookies, muffins and fresh pastries.  The renovated GS Café takes the place of the former Golden Spoon.

Sol Agave
Sol Agave is satisfying cravings for Mexican fare since it recently opened in Union Market in Kaleidoscope. This upscale Mexican restaurant is known for its organic menu that features kurobuta pork, jidori chicken and fresh guacamole. Head chef Manny Velasco earned awards for his culinary creations – including the 2018 Golden Foodie Award.  Originally, Sol Agave got its start as a gourmet food truck and now has two restaurants with the other locale in San Juan Capistrano. Sol Agave joins 10 other restaurants and retail vendors within Union Market.

In other news:

The City received an application for the remodel of the existing McDonald’s restaurant on Alicia Parkway and Trabuco Road. The remodel calls for façade and landscape updates and an outdoor dining area. The updated building façade will include a new color scheme, enhanced entryways and other architectural elements. This revamp will be the first in this location’s history and will help to unify the look with the Alicia Trabuco Shopping Center across the street.
