Household Hazard Waste Collection July 24
The City and OC Waste & Recycling are celebrating National Drive-Thru Day July 24 by encouraging residents to properly dispose of their household hazard waste materials.
Household hazardous waste (HHW) includes cleaners, stains, varnishes, batteries, automotive fluids, pesticides, herbicides, certain paints and many other items found in basements, under kitchen sinks and dark garage corners.
Residents can dispose of their HHW items for FREE at any of the county's four Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers. In addition, the City’s waste hauler Waste Management offers the at-your-door HHW program by appointment for Mission Viejo residents.
County HHW centers are open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. An at-the-door collection can be arranged by call 800-449-7587.
