Important Town Hall meeting on Feb. 4 will focus on teen dating violence
Parents of teens are invited to an essential Town Hall meeting on February 4, designed to educate people about the reality of teen dating violence.
Led by Laura’s House and hosted by the City, the Town Hall – “What Your Teens Don’t Want You to Know: Exploring the Trends in Unhealthy Adolescent Relationships†– is from 7-8:30 pm at Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
Studies show that 1 in 3 teens in the country experience some form of teen dating violence; however, a recent study by Chapman University indicates that Orange County has twice the national average. This forum will give an in-depth look at teen dating violence; the various forms it can take; and the red flags parents can identify while their teens are in a dating relationship. Parents will learn about the resources available to help protect our youth.
The meeting will feature expert guest panelists from the nonprofit Laura’s House, which helps victims of domestic violence, and Mission Viejo Police Services.
