Iron Man in a jetpack will hover over Oso Viejo Community Park Saturday, July 22

guy flying with jet pack

It’s a bird, it’s a plane … wait, no it’s Iron Man in a jetpack hovering over Mission Viejo? No joke. That will be the scene this Saturday when a jetpack pilot flies nearly 200 feet above Oso Viejo Park as part of a spectacular stunt during Symphony in the Cities/Prelude in the Park event.

Spectators will be amazed when Iron Man soars over and lands in the park all while strapped to an 800-horsepower rocket from Apollo JetPack.  In line with this year’s superhero theme, the stunt is part of an epic superhero-villain scene straight from a movie screen. It will take place just before Pacific Symphony takes the stage at 7 p.m.

Along with thrilling theatrics, concertgoers will enjoy seeing Batman and his Batmobile along with other caped crusaders and villains.  The evening also features family activities; tasty fare; gourmet food trucks; and a wine and beer garden.  Leading up to the Pacific Symphony concert is a Musical Playground for kids that includes a “conducting” clinic with the talented Maestro Carl St.Clair.  The Musical Playground is a great opportunity for families to meet talented musicians and experience different instruments.

Shuttle service is available from the Civic Center at 200 Civic Center or get a healthy dose of exercise by riding your bike to this free event.
