Learn about nurturing hummingbirds in your garden on Oct. 8

Hummingbird

If you have a passion for nature, then don’t miss the Rose Society of Saddleback Mountain’s next meeting on Monday, October 8. Featuring a longtime hummingbird advocate, the meeting is from 7-9 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Monique Rae has worked with and rehabilitated hummingbirds in South Orange County for the past 22 years. She is also a volunteer for the Orange County Songbird Care and Education Center. Along with being an active speaker, Monique is an author and artist.

Her presentation will focus on the hummingbird legend, nesting materials, hummingbird rescue and gardening suggestions to encourage and provide the nectar, food and bugs these jewels of nature enjoy.
