Local singer-songwriter from ‘The Voice’ to act as keynote speaker at Walk Against Drugs
Singer-songwriter Karly Moreno will serve as the keynote speaker at this year’s Walk Against Drugs on Saturday, October 21.
The event kicks off at 8 am with a rally at Mission Viejo High School (25025 Chrisanta Drive) with a speech and performance by Karly Moreno from NBC’s “The Voice.”
Karly fell in love with music at a young age and knew it was meant to be her path. In 2019, she was a contestant on Season 16 of NBC’s “The Voice.” Being coached by Adam Levine and Blake Shelton was the highlight of her career thus far. Her singing career has also propelled her to some other amazing stages like the Rose Bowl; Anaheim Stadium; House of Blues; Greek Theatre opening for “Americas Got Talent“; and the Mission Fest opening for Jamey Johnson and Dennis Quad. Karly’s music is available on all streaming platforms. Along with music, skateboarding has also been a big part of Karly‘s life since she was a child. At first, she used skateboarding as a way to keep up with her two older brothers but quickly developed a true love for being on the board.
You can meet Karly after the walk during the Community Fair and South County Disaster Preparedness Expo from 9 am to noon on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park (24932 Veterans Way).
The event is for all ages, and the first 1,500 participants will receive a free event T-shirt featuring a fun design of Karly Moreno.
