Mission Viejo Bocce Club buzzing after beating Tustin team
The Mission Viejo Bocce Club gained forever bragging rights after clinching the club's first competition.
About 20 members traveled to north Orange County March 15 to compete against the City of Tustin's Bocce Club.
"It was an exciting and interesting match with each team determined to win," said Community Services Supervisor Barb Cassidy. "The host team provided a spread of refreshments to boost energy, and everyone had a blast!"
Mission Viejo came out on top 3-1 after playing four games. The members are now revved up for their next challenge.
The Mission Viejo Bocce Club meets at the bocce courts on the Village Green, just outside the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way. Folks interested in learning how to play can attend the next free bocce ball clinic at 10 a.m. on April 5. Registration is recommended and available by calling 949-470-3062.
