Mission Viejo Library embracing 'Each Mind Matters' program

Have you seen the brightly colored bench at the Mission Viejo Library? It’s a small park bench painted in lime green, the national color for mental health awareness.

The Mission Viejo Library is teaming up with Mission Hospital to embrace the “Each Mind Matters” program, which brings people together to eliminate the stigma around mental illness. The bench is meant to encourage and provide people with a safe place to talk openly and honestly with friends, loved ones and community members about mental health. Doing so leads to early support and help that reduces needless suffering and saves lives.

The bench, which is placed in different locations, will be in the library through January 15.

If you see it, share photos and videos on social media with #TheGreenBench. To learn more about the program, visit http://www.eachmindmatters.org.
