National Prescription Medication Take-Back Day Oct. 26

prescription medication bottle

The City, Mission Viejo Police Services and Drug Enforcement Administration will host a National Prescription Medication Take-Back Day event on Saturday, October 26 from 10 am to 2 pm in the Civic Center parking lot.

You can drive through and drop off unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications for proper disposal – free and anonymous. Liquids, needles and sharps will NOT be accepted. No need to remove mediations from the original packaging, since medication and packaging – including bottles and labels – are incinerated. National Take-Back Day is a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs.

Prescription and over-the-counter drugs are the most commonly misused substances by Americans age 14 and older, after marijuana and alcohol.   Don’t let your medicine cabinet be the source of drugs for anyone.

The event takes place at 200 Civic Center Drive. For more information, call 714-647-4133.
