Nighttime directional closures of I-5 between Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road planned for Aug. 2, 3

Southbound I-5 between El Toro Road and Alicia Parkway will be closed August 2 from 11 pm to 5 am as part of the freeway widening project to accommodate installation of concrete girders at Los Alisos Boulevard.

Similarly, northbound I-5 between Alicia Parkway and El Toro Road will be closed August 3 from 11 pm to 5 am, according to the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA).

The nighttime directional closures are required to allow crews to safely perform installation of the 12 girders, each approximately 126 feet long and weighing nearly 166,000 pounds. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes as shown. Find more details and sign up for construction alerts on the OCTA website.
