Nominees sought for special Wall of Recognition honor
The City is accepting nominations for its annual Wall of Recognition program – created to recognize people who have contributed extraordinary, lasting and significant service to the community.
The nominee must be a Mission Viejo resident, and his or her service to the community must have been performed in or have directly benefited the City. Nominations can be submitted by the nominee’s family, a community member, local official, nonprofit organization or business.
Applications are available online at cityofmissionviejo.org. Nominations, which must be signed by at least 20 people whose primary residences are in town, are due by noon on February 28 to Julie Zanio at the Norman P. Murray Center (24932 Veterans Way).
Honorees will be chosen by a selection committee that will make a recommendation to the Community Service Commission. The City Council will consider the commission’s final nominations and recognize recipients at a special presentation. The names of the honorees and their contributions will be etched on the Wall of Recognition plaque at the City’s community center.
