Olympians, diving, swimming and family fun on tap for Marguerite Aquatics Complex Grand Re-Opening April 7
"Continuing Mission Viejo's Olympic Tradition," the Marguerite Aquatics Complex will make a historic splash for its Grand Re-Opening Celebration on Saturday, April 7.
Ushering in a new chapter of our City's swimming and diving legacy, the event will give the community a chance to meet Olympians including Greg Louganis, Rowdy Gaines and our very own Brian Goodell. The celebration includes a diving demonstration, Nadadores' historical timeline and photo opportunities with and autographs from the Olympians.
Families will enjoy crafts and games like Olympic torch making and an Olympic ring toss. There will be two water obstacle courses with timed heats for swimmers to take home a ribbon; splash time with a chance to walk on water in bubble balls; and other fun activities in and out of the pool. (A swim test is required for all pool activities.) Entry to the event is FREE with food trucks providing delectable fare for purchase.
Opening ceremonies are from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with a host of activities taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 27474 Casta Del Sol. Guest parking will be provided at Trabuco Hills High School with FREE shuttles to the event (no parking on site).
The event will also boast a great opportunity for folks to give back by volunteering. Volunteers, who must be at least 15, are sought for the morning reception; site logistics; ushers/seating; recreation activities; and parking and concierge. Volunteer applications are available online and for more information call 949-470-3061.
