More than 40 nonprofit organizations are reaping the fruit of the community’s labor after the Oso Fit 5K Fun Run last Saturday.

With roughly 1,000 participants, nearly 500 runners in the 5K and a free Community Health Fair boasting 80 vendors and many free health screenings, the event was a win-win for all. Deputy Dana Chaney led the runners in a picturesque route along the Oso Creek Trail.

“This event demonstrates community building at its finest,” said Mark Nix, Director of Recreation and Community Services. “It complements our efforts to help residents lead healthy lifestyles while providing an inclusive, fun event for folks of all abilities.”
