competitive runners

Rain or shine, the Oso Fit Fun Run takes step in Mission Viejo this Saturday featuring a 5K and quarter- and half-mile runs along with a popular indoor Community Health Fair. By simply registering for this event, you can support your favorite local nonprofit.

The Oso Fit Fun Run will have some star power with RJ Mitte, an actor and model best known for his role on “Breaking Bad”; Kate Tomlinson of Disney’s “Stuck in the Middle”; and actors Aaron Schwartz; Niko Pepaj; and Lacianne Carriere on hand for the fun.

The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with the Community Health Fair inside the Norman P. Murray Center featuring more than 70 health and wellness organizations offering giveaways, handouts and free health screenings. The 5K run follows at 8:30 a.m., with the quarter- and half-mile runs beginning at 9:30 a.m. All children participating in the kids’ walk/run will take home a special medal – presented to them by RJ Mitte.

The children’s course will be accessible for kids of all abilities – even those with braces, crutches, walkers and wheelchairs.

All pre-registration fees will benefit Mission Viejo nonprofits. For more information, visit  http://osofit5k.org.  Registration is available this afternoon from 4-8 p.m. and on race day from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at the Norman P. Murray Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
