Work with flowers and gain valuable hands-on experience making basic, event and seasonal floral arrangements in this fun class from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. December 7 at Conroy’s Flowers, 28442 Marguerite Parkway. Students take home practice arrangements after each class. Bring a cutter with you. The program is open to adults 18 and older (course #5751). Cost is $30 plus a $30 lab fee payable to the instructor.
THE ART OF COPPERPLATE CALLIGRAPHY WITH VICTORIA KIBILDIS
In this series of fun and informative classes, you will learn the basics of copperplate lettering, flourishing techniques, how to create your personal monogram and modern variations. The series (course #5504) takes place on Wednesdays 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. December 27 through January 31 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. It caters to adults 18 and older. Cost is $175 plus a $52 lab fee payable to the instructor.
WOMEN’S SELF DEFENSE BY PKSA KARATE
Designed specifically for women and busy moms, this program will teach you about easy defense, verbal boundaries, emotions and adrenaline. You will also learn defense stances and strikes. This is a great program for fitness, defense and health. Sessions, which cater to age 16 and older, take place on Tuesdays from 7:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. in December (course #9992), January (course #9993) and February (course #9994) at PKSA Karate, 25290 Marguerite Parkway, Suite A. Cost is $40 per session.
Build character through discipline and self-confidence. You will learn to defend against punches, holds and grabs. The program caters to adults 18 and older and takes place Tuesday and Friday evenings in December (course #9224), January (course #9223) and February (course #9230) at the Montanoso Recreation and Fitness Center, 25800 Montanoso Drive. Cost is $55 for members; $60 non-members.
