If you want to tap your creative side or learn some valuable defense moves, register today for the following community adult classes.

Floral Design
Work with fresh flowers and gain valuable hands-on experience making basic, event and seasonal floral arrangements. Students take home practice arrangements after each class. Bring a cutter with you on January 19 or February 23 to Conroy’s Flowers at 28442 Marguerite Pkwy. Fine Arts Painting with Ann Klein
Have you ever wanted to learn to work with oil, acrylic or watercolor? All techniques of fine art painting are taught and all levels are welcome in this fun 3-hour class that takes place every Monday at 8 a.m. from February 6-27. Cost is $25. The Art of Copperplate Calligraphy with Victoria Kibildis
In this series of fun and informative classes, you learn the basics of copperplate lettering, flourishing techniques, how to create your personal monogram and “modern” variations. Materials and equipment are provided for students to keep. This 3-hour program takes place each Wednesday at 6 p.m. from January 18-February 22. Women’s Self Defense by PKSA Karate
Designed specifically for women and busy moms, this self-defense program includes easy defense, verbal boundaries, emotions and adrenaline, defense stances and strikes and fitness for defense and health.  The program is open to folks 16 and older and takes place at 7:45 p.m. each Tuesday through March 14 at PKSA Karate located at 25290 Marguerite Pkwy, Suite A. Karate for Adults
Build character through discipline and self-confidence through karate classes. You will be taught to defend against punches, holds and grabs. The program takes place Tuesday at 8 p.m. and Friday at 7 p.m. through February at the Montanoso Recreation and Fitness Center. Cost is $40 for members and $45 for non-members.
